We are very proud of pupil's achievements whether it be public performance or personal growth in confidence
The school was born in 2001 and has a wealth of talented students who have gone on to further their studies being accepted for further education and Performing Arts degrees at Mountview, GSA, Urdang, Millennium, Arts Ed, Italia Conte, The Brit School, Worthing, Southampton, Chichester and the National Youth Theatre, some who have been awarded scholarships. Pupils have gained opportunities starring on TV in BBC1's 'Doctors' (playing 'Ben Priestley') and in films such as 'Hummingbird' (playing 'Ruby', Jason Statham's daughter) and 'Mrs Brown Da Movie'.
Pupils have been selected for fantastic opportunities such as singing on singles released by Basement Jaxx and promoting the singles at the O2 & Glastonbury, recording their own EP's, showcasing their own songs to music industry experts in London, singing live and recording with stars such as Mutya Buena (Sugababes) and Marc Almond. Plus students have successfully auditioned and performed roles in the Royal Opera House's 'La Boheme' and West End's Sound of Music, Wicked, Billy Elliot, Phantom, High School Musical, The King and I, Les Miserables, Calamity Jane, Annie, Oliver, Showboat, Joseph's Technicolour Dreamcoat and the Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe. Pupils have also starred in professional pantomimes e.g. Aladdin, Sleeping Beauty, Peter Pan, Dick Whittington. While others have gone on to become lead singers fronting rock, jazz, funk and tribute bands.
Our pupils who choose to study LAMDA Acting and LCM Music Theatre exams have always achieved 100% pass rate. In 2015 we have achieved the highest number of pupils being awarded Distinction, with three-quarters of our 69 exam students reaching this highest accolade!
Our Pop Vocal classes are fun, one hour lessons which teach the principles of vocal techniques 'best practice' so the pupils learn to take care of their voices and develop their talents through understanding correct breathing, pitch, vocal registers, harmony, ad libs and microphone techniques. Where appropriate, some songs are staged to easy dance moves, which enhance the performance. There are performances at the end of each term taking the form of a class demonstration, an annual talent show and an end of year presentation, giving parents the opportunity to share in their child's development and also providing the students plenty of performance experience, in a friendly and positive environment aimed at building their confidence.
Music Theatre exam classes are 2 terms of fun, small group tuition, studying stage and film songs revealing pupils talents not just as singers but as either dancers or actors too. The final term becomes private tuition, where each child is coached one to one to help them achieve their best exam result possible.
LAMDA acting exams are taught as private lessons throughout the year working towards summer exams. These exams challenge each students skill, interpretation and characterisation helping them grow to another level aiming to "not just demonstrate.......but 'be'" (John Thaw) and to 'play a part as if their life depended on it' (Sierra Boggess).
The founder, Cinnamon Fuller Bsc.(Hons.) B.Arts Assoc. Ele.Tap AMBA, knows from her twenty-five years experience teaching that it is important to have fun whilst learning, which is essential to the development of the individual. Singing, music and movement encourage self-expression and build self-confidence. These remain with a child for the rest of their lives.
Working in the music industry as a session singer for EMI, Cinnamon has recorded and toured with bands as a singer/songwriter. With this wealth of knowledge, she realises the importance of offering the children a chance to study contemporary songs sung by their pop or stage idols. From writing and directing children’s musicals in the US and the UK, Cinnamon knows to be a good singer students not only require good vocal technique but they also need training in performing and confident microphone skills. With this in mind it is our goal to develop and encourage young entertainers whether they perform for their family, at a karaoke party or for an audition.

"We were really impressed with the commitment and support the teachers gave, they were bright, smiley and encouraging which really too the edge off Lulu's exam nerves" (Robert Simmons)
